While I'm certain this isn't Kamigusk, or anywhere near the academy, I'm lost as to where exactly I am. I apologize for this ignorance, and can assure you I'll get my bearings once acclimated to the area. A map would be nice, if one can be supplied to me. I refuse to trust any objects in this backpack until it's proven not to be cursed or rigged. Not to mention I have no mother, so this farce that is going on is ludicrous.

This creature that I've been given is also an unexpected burden and I'd much like to get rid of it somewhere. If you'd like to take good care of a floating cat-like animal, please reply with your request, though I refuse to give it to anyone unqualified.

I don't think anyone expects you to know where you are, since it's someplace so different, but I do have a map I've made of the area, if you'd like! And the pokemon you woke up with is actually something that'll be a big help to you here, so you shouldn't get rid of it!

At any rate, the backpack is perfectly safe. If you plan to leave that town, you will need both the items supplied in the bag and the creature that is with you.

A few months shy of a year, yes. And I have not been home since, although from what I hear that is not much of an issue.

If that is what you feel would be safest, feel free to do so. It would be good to take an inventory, at the very least. If I am remembering correctly, it is just enough to make the three day journey to the next town. And as for the creature... Well, you will probably find other, aggressive kinds on the road, so I would not be so quick to leave it behind.

I can understand that. I was on something of a job myself when I wound up here... However, from what I can tell, time is completely stopped in our worlds while we are here. Or at the very least, should anyone return, it is to the exact moment they left at.

While that seems like it would be a very convenient spell to know, magic is tricky and doesn't always work the way we're told it will. I'll believe it when it happens to me, although there will be no need by that point.

I don't know if this is really magic... if it is, I don't think it's like a spell or anything like that. It's more like... more like maybe a hole was opened between worlds? And people keep being drawn through it.
